Dependence of Air Permeability on Parameters of Fabric Geometry

Abstract

The influence of fabric parameters on air permeability has been analyzed. The area of a fabric surface is divided into the pore area Sp, area covered by yarns Sy, and the area of yarns intersection Si,. Fabric air permeability depends on reciprocal relationship of these parts of the fabric surface area. In this work the influence of each structure area on polyester fabric air permeability has been analyzed. The ratio of this structure area and whole area of the fabric surface has been suggested as a factor of the experiment. The experimental influences of fabric structure parameters on air permeability are presented.
