Abstract

Softenning textiles is the very important process to impair soft handle to textiles. It has been used throughout history, and some additional properties have been achieved through it recently - better sewability, lower level of damages to the knitted fabrics in sewing, higher strength and resistance to creasing and lower electrostatic charge. Dispersions (wax and paraffin) are most often used as softeners, and also surfactants and cation-active and silicone emulsions.
