Incremental Method for Automatic Computerised Construction of Garment Patterns
Abstract
Theoretical basis and gradual development of the new incremental method for automatic computerised data calculation and construction of cutting patterns are presented. Investigations of the method development were partly done employing analysis and transformation of conventional methods of constructing articles of clothing, but mostly through the adaptation of conventional ways and using computers and theoretical basis developed, employing software solutions for table calculations and drawing. Gradual development of mathematical expressions for determining relative increments and decrements of characteristic points on cutting pattern contours is shown, as a precondition for establishing new method for automatic computerised construction of garment patterns. Mathematical expressions developed are grouped into systems for each cutting pattern individually, following the requirements for defining relative increments of characteristic points. Groups of procedures and mathematical expressions are used to determine the activities adequate for the implementation of the method on a computer platform intended for automatic garment construction. Values calculated for characteristic point relative co-ordinates are grouped so as to define straight and curved segments of cutting pattern contours, and are stored into script data files, which contain incremental values for computerised drawing of cutting parts.Downloads
